Magic 4

I went and donated blood today during lunch. As I've mentioned before, I'm trying my darnedest to reach the 5-gallon mark. I'm not quite as close as I thought I was. Today I received my 4-gallon pin as I donated pints 32 and 33. Only 7 pints to go doesn't seem like much, but when you consider how frequently you're allowed to donate that actually amounts to more than two years. TWO YEARS!

Well, I'll just have to keep my eye on the goal and continue to plug away (what does that even mean?). If I'm lucky I should reach my goal near the end of 2010. Chase will probably be driving by then...

That just makes me think of four gallon milk jugs filled with blood, chillin' in the fridge. Gross!

Congratulations on successfully commenting on my blog! It's truly a remarkable feat and you are to be commended.

It's funny that you should mention milk jugs full of blood because that's how they actually collected it this time. I asked them if it's safe to store the blood in milk jugs and they said once the top of the jug scabs over it actually preserves very well. When they need to use the blood they simply peel the scab and pour what they need.

I forgot to ask if they eat the scab or not...
