Why am I Here?

|

For some reason I've been extremely tired this week. Today I was dragging my feet at work and decided to take the afternoon off. My main goal was to somehow find a GeoCoin since I have been unable to get my hands on one. I struck out since someone took the coin I was looking for and they still haven't logged it (Valentine's Day cache). After this failed attempt I continued to the Sugarloaf cache. Once I found the cache I looked for other caches nearby. One happened to be only about 400' away, but it was a bit of a climb. I looked but was unable to find the cache; however, another cache was only 400' further up the hill. I soon found myself at the top of the hill wondering why I was there. I had only intended to do easy caches, but soon found myself in a precarious place. I didn't bring any water, so I was rather parched. I had water in my car, but by the time I got back to my car it was very hot. Still, hot water was better than nothing.

I got new glasses a couple weeks ago, but the lens was goofy. It wasn't cut right for the frames, so it was warped. I tried fixing it, but when I realized it was cut wrong I decided to take it back to the doctor's office. Hopefully I'll have the new lens by next week.

I've been spending quite a bit of time lately trying to figure out ham radio stuff. There's so much to know that I sometimes wonder if I'll ever figure it out, but it seems that I've learned quite a bit lately. For example, I learned that when I'm on the lower end of 10m and I call a CQ, Emilie can hear me through her TV. It doesn't happen on the upper half, but on most of the lower half. Cheap TV's have this problem because they don't properly filter the tuner in the TV.

Plans with our new house are going swimmingly! We were trying to get a sweet deal on a Lennar home since Jenni is working for Lennar. Originally, she didn't think she'd be able to help, which made us sad since that put us at over 300 on the list. It turns out that she can help us, though, since we're direct family. We signed preliminary papers last night and will sign contracts in three weeks. We got to see where the lot is. They're already building the house! The plumbing and pipes are in place and they are ready to pour the foundation soon. They estimate that it will be done by December of January - yippee!! Once we know t that we are definitely getting the house I'll start putting progress pictures up.
